Nia laid down on a couch in her room. Her face buried into a book. Their had been a counsel meeting a few days back and she finally finished with back work yesterday and she was looking forward to taking a day. She had invited another counsel member over today, she was new to the position and so was the other counsel member so she thought she would give a sign of friendship and invite him over. However he seemed to be a bit late, so she had started to read a book, 3 hours ago. She wonder in the back of her head what could be keeping him, or i he would even bother showing up at all. Another half an hour had past when a maid walked in and mentioned that he had arrived. "Well don't just leaving him standing out there, let him in. Send him up here." said Nia closing her book. She got up and put it back on the shelf before sitting back down and waiting.

Mavrilus von Magis had been given an invitation to a fellow High Councilor's manor. Being a politician, Mavrilus recognized it as a practiced courtesy, expected by those of noble birth or otherwise powerful individuals who share the table in the High Council Chambers. However, to Mavrilus there was always something to be had from these courtesies, and he accepted her invitation happily. With a smirk on his face, he had arranged for one of his servants to ready his limousine. He of course sat in the back, set a part from the chauffeur.

As they drove outside of Viara, Mavrilus looked out at the city surrounding him. Many young children and parents ran towards the limousine to get a glimpse at their pride & joy. Mavrilus lowered one of his windows and raised a black fedora he had by his side out at the crowd, smiling. It only served to excite them more. A member of Innovita's Board of Directors sat next to Mavrilus. "Oh how you enjoy enticing the crowd." Mavrilus withdrew from beyond his window, and as he did this the window was closed shut.

He sat comfortably in the limousine. "Inspiring the people is key to remaining in power. I am their chief-representative and national leader, and they are my subjects. Therefore they ought to be treated as such." The Corporate officer smirked. "...I think you just like the attention." Mavrilus sat back, and continue peering outside of the limousine's window.

They were on the road for about an hour in a half at this point. "My, oh my... It would appear that High Councilor Helspith certainly enjoys overlooking the 'mundane-folk' beneath her." Her manor was situated just outside of the city, overlooking it from atop a steep landform. "Perhaps you two are alike in more ways than one." His colleague commented. "I think she's a genuine leader. She is unlike the other magocrats I've met." Now the man sitting next to Mavrilus had a curious look on his face. Mavrilus didn't notice, he was too busy admiring the beauty of Moroarc, and its capital Genova below.

"What is it you hope to achieve from this meeting?" He finally asked. "It's a polite gesture. Nothing more." The Director knew his CEO, President & Chairman all too well. "No, but seriously... It's important I relay the objectives of Innovita to the other Directors back home." Mavrilus smirked. "Perhaps I want to surprise you." The Director removed his hat and scratched at his head. "Then why did you take me along with you?" Without moving an inch, Mavrilus spoke, "I wanted the company." He was beginning to frustrate the Director, but the Director knew better than to speak out of turn.

"...And we're here." A mighty fence safeguarded the manor from guests, and the main entrance was securely locked awaiting the signature of whichever Magi was registered into it. Mavrilus knew all too well that he himself couldn't register his own signature so he instead registered one of his Directors. "Look into the MWF scanner for me, will you?" Now the Director was frustrated, Mavrilus only brought him here for the scanner. "It's because of that damned innate ability you have that I'm here. You're always thinking ahead, eh? Will I ever even meet this High Councilor in person?" Mavrilus nodded after the MWF scanner identified his Director.

"No, unfortunately you will not meet her. You need remember that this is a courtesy. I'm not going to put pressure on her -- not yet anyways." The man paused, he was no longer in the mood to speak with Mavrilus von Magis. "Fine, I guess I'll be sitting around in the limo." The limousine parked outside of the spacious manor set out before them. "That you will." Mavrilus stepped out of the limousine. His playful demeanor was no more. Now, he had an exquisite look about him. He had left his hat in the limousine, he rarely wore it anyways.

One of High Councilor Helspith's servants ran outside, as if anticipating his arrival at this very moment. She bowed with utmost respect. "Greetings, Master Mavrilus von Magis. Please, milady is waiting for you." She turned around and began walking in the direction of High Councilor Helspith. Mavrilus looked about the manor. He was unimpressed due to the scale of housing he was normally used to. Apparently this woman also led a life of luxury -- to some extent. Mavrilus purposefully refused to do any research on this new High Councilor, she peaked his interests, and he was to visit her up-close and in-person.

Mavrilus was surprisingly led to High Councilor Helspith's bedroom. It was uncalled for, and showed her inexperience with formal visitation into her home. The servant opened the bedroom door for Mavrilus, and gently closed it shut behind him. Before him, sat High Councilor Helspith with a book by her side.

He refrained from a snide remark, and decided to approach things lightly, he was in her territory after all. "Greetings, Lady Nia Helspith, I am Lord Mavrilus von Magis -- par your request." He bowed slightly. "May I sit?" He noticed a couch situated across from her own seated position.

Nia smiled as he walked in. "Hello." said Nia. She gestured to a seat. "Sit where ever you feel comfortable. Your acting really formal. Didn't the messenger tell you, this wasn't meant to be a formal meeting." A slightly worried look appeared on her face. "They didn't tell you did they? I'm sorry for any inconvenience that caused. I wanted to meet with you cause we are both new to this position and I was hoping to get to know you better as friend rather then a co-worker." She calmed down a bit, mentally reminding herself to calm down. "I'm so sorry, would you like a drink?" Nia paused for a bit. "Please don't feel like you can't get comfortable. Relax."

Nia Helspith had given Mavrilus von Magis permission to sit, and explained that it wasn't supposed to be a formal meeting. He took a seat on the couch across from her own seated position, and crossed his legs, sitting comfortably. She offered him a drink. "Some wine would be nice at this point." He paused, looking out the window from his position on the couch. "I was on the road for hours. Moroarc is a pleasant place, I think I may explore Gerova later today." It was all so green in Moroarch, much unlike Viara and a lot of Eleritch. "You do understand that we are the leaders of the Republic. It's scandalous for two High Councilors to get friendly with one another." He recalled not having noticed any guards as he was led up here. It was strange, he was always use to an escort of armed men, Nia must genuinely trust in her people. "The other High Councilors won't like this, and the public will make quite a deal out of it. You are bold." At that very moment a word came to his mind "naive", however, he wouldn't say anything to offend his fellow High Councilor. "It seems you and I will aim to change national policies. Many of the Magocrats of this day are old and waning." The fact that they were in this room together alluded to that idea.

Nia got up to the little bar area in her room and pulled out a bottle of red wine. She poured to glasses then returned to were she sat and passed a glass to Mavrilus. "I could show you around, this house was originally my family's vacation home. I know the surrounding area exceptionally well." offered Nia. She took a sip of her drink and then placed the drink on a side table. "If I can't be friends with the people I work with why bother working with them. Let my media have a field day if they want. I know were I stand and the people know where i stand. I have nothing to hide from them. And as for the other councilors, they know i'm not stupid. But your probably right, they won't like it." Mavrilus mentioned that they both aimed to change national policies and the the older magocrats were getting old. "I'd be lying if I said there was nothing I wanted to change. There are some old policies that need to be fix. They may have worked at he time but not anymore. And as for the other Magocrats, well I think they are more worried about whose hands the county is going to be in once they're gone."

Mavrilus accepted the glass of wine she had given him. He shook it around a bit; played with it. Then he took a smooth sip, the glass pressed on his rosy lips gently, and the red wine only served to redden them. He had swallowed the wine, and a pleasant sensation coursed throughout his entire body. He hadn't drunken any alcoholic beverage in a while, and was already enjoying himself. Nia had offered to give Mavrilus a tour. He thought about the Director waiting for him in his car, and smiled at the thought of making him wait even longer. "I would be delighted if you could give me the tour before leaving here today." Nia didn't seemed to care about the public-eye being on her back, and whenever that happened, at least for magocrats, it served to undermine their position in the Republic, which, in the long-term could be quite damaging. And just as Mavrilus predicted, Nia was quite the liberal. "Well, fortunately for our older more conservative magocrats, the nation will be falling into the capable hands of a newer generation." It was a compliment, but certainly not a genuine one. By hands, he meant his own... But, she wouldn't realize it. She didn't know enough about Mavrilus to properly make assumptions; for now all they would be were wild guesses. Same would apply for Mavrilus as well. "Your MWF is rather high." Mavrilus pointed out. He had identified her with his Eye of Amund. He took another sip of wine from the cool glass.

Nia smiled as he accepted her offer. "Once we are done here I'll show you around." A small laugh came out of Nia. "Try telling that to the older Magocrats." It was a pathetic joke but it was also a spur of the moment thing as well. Then she looked generally shocked. "Yes I'm one of the few that have an extremely high MWF, but I have to ask how do you know this? My MWF isn't common knowledge." She wanted to figure out how he knew. She thought it would be interesting. "Do you have an innate ability to read MWFs?"

Nia had explained that she does in fact have an unusually high MWF, and Mavrilus had apparently drawn her curiosity, since she asked him how he knew. She automatically assumed that it had something to do with the irregular trend of an inborn ability unique to certain Magi. Since she assumed it was an innate ability, Mavrilus figured that she had one herself. He wanted to question what it was, and if it was a threat to him in any way, but he decided not to speak up. "No, it isn't an inborn ability." He paused, placing his index finger on the strange eye-piece equipped around his left eye. "It was one of my own projects. I crafted an eyepiece based on Alfar-design. It's not for show, it allows me to identify one's magoplasmic signature, their MWF levels and even helps him predict my opponent's actions -- to an extent." After all it was a technological transference, but it had its uses. "I'm sure I don't have to tell you that the Magis family founded the world's leading technological researcher, developer and innovator. I have all the best Alchemists at my disposal, and sometimes I help them with their work, or I have my own projects." The entire Republic knew that the Magis family had some very powerful connections, and was perhaps the wealthiest family and most influential family to date. Mavrilus von Magis was a very dangerous man.

"Thats really cool. Any reason you haven't put it on the market. That could be invaluable in the fight against the old way rebellion." pointed out Nia. She took another dip from her wine, finishing it up. She got up and refilled the glass before returning to her seat. "You even said you have some the best alchemists in the country working for you. Remaking the eyepiece shouldn't be a problem." Nia sat back and put her drink down. "It could tip the balance of the war against the rebels in our favor. They have been very passive for the past few months but who knows maybe they are planning something." A thought appeared in Nia's head. "So everyone knows about you and your family. but what about you as a person?"

Nia was interested in the eyepiece that Mavrilus had engineered himself. She understood how useful it was and how much it could help the Sentinels of Magic in their war effort. "For one, I could only retail such a gadget to the Sentinels of Magic, and perhaps the M.I.S. Not the public. I wouldn't want to throw money out if I don't think I'll make much of a profit." He paused. "The Government isn't the best client to make deals with... They don't like dealing with businessman, unless they are confident that they can keep them in check. What they don't understand is in this Republic, opportunities are everywhere if you can reach out and grab them. The Magocracy is as powerful, if not more powerful than the Government that runs this nation." He took another sip of wine, he was nearly finished with his glass.

There was silence if only for a bit, and then Nia had spoken up. She knew of the Magis family all too well, but what about Mavrilus himself? She was looking for a friend, and getting to know someone's background was often the first step. "I am a politician & businessman. I enjoy my power & wealth, and I give credit where it's due." He looked into her eyes. "...And what of you, Lady Nia Helspith. What kind of woman are you?" Mavrilus noticed how involved she was with the war effort. She was connected to it in some way, otherwise she wouldn't have brought it up to begin with. But is not every Republican connected to the war? They are the target after all; the obstacle to overcome. "...What's your opinion of the war?" He had to ask her.

"My opinion is to get it done with. It's just a waste of time started up by extremists on both sides." said Nia. "But as for the type of woman I am, well I like to deal with problems personally and democratically if possible. Fighting bares no fruit, it only serves to hurt. But I do realize that some problems can not be solved peacefully and as much as I hate it I'll do what it takes to get it resolved." Nia paused and took a sip. "That is the type of woman I am in a business terms. On personal terms, well you have to find out for yourself." Nia smiled. "But enough talk about business affairs, we are here to relax and have fun and so far we haven't had much of that happening."

Nia had shared her thoughts about the war, like Mavrilus had asked. She was definitely different than most world leaders. To Mavrilus, war was necessary in this case and diplomacy wouldn't have worked anyways. "Extremists? Is that how you look at the Government you run? Are we not trying to build a future? It's quite difficult trying to lead a nation that has to remain vigilant because of a faction of unreasonable radicals." He paused. "Diplomacy would never work with these men and women we are currently at war with. They are far too idealistic with their beliefs." Mavrilus had shared his feelings of the war with her, largely in the form of questions. In order to learn of Nia more personally, she made it clear that he'd have to earn her trust first; however, Mavrilus wasn't necessarily concerned with her personal concerns or respect. Instead of talking strictly about business, Nia decided it was about time they relax like she had originally intended for them to. "Relax and have fun? You are definitely unlike other magocrats I know." He paused. "...I wonder why that is?" He asked himself out loud. She certainly didn't play the part she was given.

"You miss hear me, I didn't call everyone extremists but I have run into extremists on this side who are just as bad the old way extremists." said Nia, sipping her drink. "A little diplomacy and understanding can go along way, even with the most hard-headed people. You just have to give it a chance." Nia smiled as he thought out loud, it was a bit rude but she excused it. "Maybe because unlike other margocrats, I'm not from a 'pure' noble family to say, my mother wasn't of noble birth. Also my parents taught me what is important and how kindness can go a long way. And to me helping others is more important than anything." Nia paused for a second. "So.... come on, what do you want to do for fun. I'm up for anything."

Nia had explained that she's actually witnessed extremists from both ends. Mavrilus was a little surprised since he never heard of technologically-apt, New-Age, extremists. But, one learns something new everyday. "You don't understand. These Rebels will stop at nothing until they've dismantled our advanced society. You can't speak of peace with them." He paused. "We already have, and that's why our government reserved land for many Old Way followers; the four major clans actually. We wanted to prevent a rebellion... Apparently it was inevitable." He spoke as though he were there at the time of the signing, but, he was actually speaking for the Republic. "Nonetheless, it's pointless pondering something that's been done, and without proper safety measures." He looked up at the ceiling. "If I were there, things would've played out differently. After all the four clans were at the High Council's mercy, the entire Government was backing their decision up." It was an act comparable to absolute authority. What Nia had asked afterward made Mavrilus smirk, he couldn't hold it back. "Fun? I'm a grown man, High Councilor." He implied that he wasn't interested in childish games, and that that question was entirely unexpected.

"You don't understand either. There are people who want to totally eradicate the old ways as well. Those extremists are just at fault. People forget that just because a person believes in the old ways doesn't make them part of the rebellion." Mavrilus mentioned how would it of been different if he was there. "You would of killed or exiled a whole culture due to a few rebels? That's like throwing away a bushel of apples if one was bad." Nia giggled at Mavrilus' answer to him having fun. "There are other ways to have fun."

Mavrilus didn't understand what she was arguing about. "What is it you advocate as a leader of the Republic? You would give justice to the Old Way savages that make up the Rebellion?" Nia had assumed that Mavrilus meant he'd enforce some kind of genocide, but that wasn't his intention at all. "You've offended me with your assumption of such barbarism. I'm not a reckless man. If I were to enact genocide on the followers of the Old Way, that would've only fueled the Rebellion's cause -- perhaps making them even worse than they are today." He paused. "And I'm well aware of a gray area. I don't see the world in black & white. You're making me out to be quite the villain." She didn't even know him and already she assumed the worst. Being around Nia was beginning to make a turn for the worst, he didn't like the kind of person she was making him out to be. But he refused to make a big deal out of it. "In what ways are we to have fun? You know the area better than I do." He asked her.

"I did not mean to offend, I do not know the type of person you are but with the tone you had I assume that is what you meant. I am sorry that I offended you." said Nia. Mavrilus then asked what way they will have fun. Nia smiled. It was now heading over to the direction she has originally plan. "There are mainly things that we could do here, ranging from staying here and enjoying each others company to going to see a play. But rather then list them all it will be shorter to figure out what you rather do then list the possibilities that way. As you know this is a very artistic area and finding something to do isn't hard. It can be overwhelming on the amount of things to do here."

High Councilor Nia had apologized for her disrespect and disregard of Mavrilus's dignity and feelings. "I forgive you. Just don't jump to conclusions next time." He winced with amusement. Then she began explaining how there was so much the two of them could do in Gerova, and offered Mavrilus a chance to express what it is he wanted to do. "I understand the city's art gallery is wondrous. Let's go there." Mavrilus stood up from his seated position. "I'll ride there for safety. I advise you do the same. These are dark times." War always led to multiple conflicts, and a High Councilor's life was always put at risk by the rising power and influence of the Old Way Rebellion. Mavrilus regretted not having brought with him an escort of Luminarium warriors.

Mavrilus headed out before Nia. His chauffeur was familiar with the sites in most states, and had an idea as to where the art gallery was, plus Nia would be following closely behind Mavrilus's limousine. "So, how was the meeting?" The Director just had to ask Mavrilus. He'd been waiting in the car for over half an hour. "It went well. Though, judging by the High Councilor's feelings and perspective, I don't think she'd be interested in aiding my agenda." The Director smirked. "The same could be said about so many others who now aid you in some way. Within time, I'm sure you could find a use for her." Mavrilus looked out of the window, and thought on the Director's words.

"Here we are, the inner-city." The Chauffeur pointed out. "We'll have to cross the river to get to the other end of the city. You're free to step out from here." Mavrilus stepped out of the limousine and waited for Nia Helspith to arrive at the waterway they'd be crossing together. Mavrilus's Director stepped out out of the limousine as well. "Finally, some fresh air!" The Director stretched out his arms. "Yes, embrace it. It's a fine afternoon in Gerova." He looked ahead to the other end of the city. There were a lot of people about the place. "Here's a city map of both the east & west end, my Lord." Mavrilus took the map from his chauffeur. "We aren't so far after all." One of the boats docked, and the people nearby were expected to step onto it, and get ready to be sailed over to the other side. "She'll be here any moment, now." Mavrilus spoke to himself. "Director Mosby, are you armed?" He asked. "Of course, Mavrilus. I suppose I'll be your bodyguard just this once." Mavrilus smirked.

Nia arrived at the docks a bit after Mavrilus. However she didn't travel with any guards. She was simply dropped off and her ride drove away till they were needed again. She waved and she walked up to Mavrilus and the mysterious man next to him. "Hello." said Nia cheerfully to the other man. "I'm guessing he is with you so are you two ready?" asked Nia. She didn't wait long before heading down to the docks and renting out a motor boat. She jumped into the boat and once the other two where in they were off. After a short ride they stopped at the docks. The tied up the boat then traveled up to the Art Gallery. "Here we are!"

Instead of using the boat that most civilians were already using, Nia decided to use a motor boat she had rented out earlier. There wasn't a lot of water in between the east & west end, but the motor boat enabled very fast travel, as opposed to a rowboat or another means of transportation. One thing Mavrilus noticed was that she hadn't hired any guards at her disposal. It was odd, especially since two High Councilors traveling together made an excellent target for assassins who wanted to witness the decline of the New-Age and its Republic. The three boarded on her motor boat, and she drove them over to the other end. The water was a nice blue color, and it glittered with the sun. The two took their first steps into the west end of the city.

There was quite a crowd of people wandering about, minding their own business. However, whispers could be heard as they passed, and photos may or may not have been shot. There were two High Councilors walking with one another through Gerova. Many vultures could make a lot of money by selling this scandalous footage. Mavrilus didn't mind the attention, and his Director knew him all too well. This was his time to shine. He waved and smiled to the people around them, bringing smiles to their faces and cries of joy from those who were particularly confident in the future of Republic.

The art gallery wasn't too far off from their position. Nia knew where she was going; this was her city after all. Director Mosby remained by Mavrilus's side, keeping an eye on those surrounding them. It was difficult since there were a lot. And some accumulated into small groups cheering or taking pictures. It made it more or less a difficult task to protect not one by two people, however, Mosby prioritized Mavrilus von Magis before anyone else. Mosby whispered into Mavrilus's ear. "There are a few suspicious individuals who appear to be trailing you at five angles." Mavrilus looked about the area. Anyone with a significant MWF, he could identify as a potential threat. "They number in no more than ten." He whispered back at Mosby. "The fools." He muttered to himself.

"I think there's a shortcut there." He pointed out a clearing to Nia. He walked in that direction where there were very few people. Now he could lure his assassins out. Mosby knew what his boss was thinking of doing. "You intend to bring them all to you, and eliminate them all at once?" Mavrilus nodded, turning to face the only way his assassins could cut through to him. "They'll follow the same path I did." Then the unprecedented happened. Two of Old Way grunts came dashing downward from the top of a building. Mavrilus figured it was too high for an aerial assault to land a hit, but he failed to realize that these men and women probably had specialized training that would help them complete their objective.

"Above you!" Director Mosby pointed out. Mavrilus looked up, and whipped out his rapier-hilted magic rod, and triggered its cyan beam, quickly parrying one of the assassins, and knocking him to the side. At the same time, Mosby had shot the second assassin quickly enough, and before he could land he was already dead. Mavrilus walked slowly toward the lying and still living assassin, and pointed the edge of his rod's cyan beam at the assassin's neck. "Who sent you? I want details." He wanted to get an idea of their hierarchy. "Go to hell, you machine!!" He noticed Mavrilus's eyepiece. "We're done here." He thrust the beam clean through the assassin's throat, killing him.

"Here they come, like you anticipated." Mosby rose his bolt pistol in the direction of the clearing's entrance. "Get ready!" Now there were eight that quickly surrounded Mavrilus and his Director Mosby, a couple were probably preparing to strike High Councilor Nia Helspith. Their faces were shrouded by a black face-mask, and their hair was piled up in their rounded straw hats. All were armed with daggers and swords, and they had magic at their disposal... All Magi do after all; a magical race of Human-beings.

"Can you two hear me." Thought Nia, connecting with the two mentally. "Don't speak just think and we will be able to hear each other. And please don't kill them. Last thing I need is blood in the street. We could easy subdue them without the need to kill." Eight more mages surrounded Mavrilus and his Companion. Truthfully she now felt a bit insulted. "Well your right there are 10 of them. Why are they all after you is what I'm wondering." Thought Nia to the other two.

Both Mavrilus von Magis and Director Mosby were surrounded by ten of the assassins, who hid each of their identities. How dishonorable, not to show your face to the one you're to kill. Mavrilus was a man of respect, and wouldn't tolerate these dastardly fanatics. What did they have to lose? Even if their completed their objective, and got away freely without hiding their identity no one would go after them, especially since they were backed by the Rebellion. Mavrilus began thinking that perhaps the Rebellion was weaker than he thought.

Suddenly a voice spoke to him, it was Nia's, but she wasn't near their position. Somehow she was communicating with them both. They could tell from the others reaction to her presence in their minds. Perhaps she was using a Telbook, but then again... Mavrilus didn't recall ever seeing one on her, so how? That was the least of Mavrilus's concern. There were ten assassins just waiting for an opening they could take advantage of. Nia of course didn't want any to be killed, but Mavrilus knew all too well that they'd never talk about the Rebellion, and keeping them alive would only make the Republic appear weak to its rebellious opposition.

Nia asked why the ten assassins were after Mavrilus. "Perhaps they've arranged for a strike against you already, you just aren't aware of it yet. Either that or they have a personal vendetta -- regarding Innovita Corporation." He paused, no one attempted to jump at Mavrilus or Mosby -- not yet. What are they waiting for? He thought to himself. "They want to lure you out, Nia. They assume you'll reveal yourself in order to help me." Now Mavrilus knew that the two of them were on their own, unless Nia was capable of using some ranged spell, or one with a sizable radius.

"You're all an indecisive wreck. You best end this now before the authorities find you armed and ready to kill." Still they didn't move. "Help! Assassins!" He called out. Now the local guards would be looking for him. With enough pressure put on the assassins, three of them jumped out at Mavrilus and Mosby. Before one assassin could strike, Mavrilus whipped out his Silenced Bolt Pistol, and fired once through the assassin's chest, he fell to the floor instantly. Mosby smacked the bunt of the gun right into one of the assassin's faces with impressive reaction time. Mavrilus managed to block the third's attack, and spun around, increasing the velocity of his next blow, smacking the magi's dagger right out of his hand. He then went about with firing a concussive beam of gravitational force directly through the man who was close enough to take a lot of the damage.

"Behind you!" Before Mavrilus could react, Mosby had stepped in between the magi's axehead, and the blade went right through his abdominal region, it remained deep inside his flesh, and before the assassin could jump back, Mavrilus spun around and fluidly sliced the assassin's head right off of its body. At this point there was blood everywhere. Six assassins remained.

Nia eventually found the two. They were surrounded by Six assassins, and 4 dead ones. "So much for not killing them." thought Nia to herself, keeping the though from the other two. Nia held her hand out. "Summon, Wolvern Rouge! Vex!" Vex appeared in her wolf form in front of Nia. "Lets go." said Nia running towards the fight. Vex jumped on one of the assassins and bit his neck, killing him. When another assassin went to charge at Vex she turned into her human form, back flipped away, drew her daggers and stabbed the assassin. While Vex and Mavrilus were fighting Nia pulled Mosby out of the fight and sat him up against the wall. She placed her hand on the blade that stuck out of his body. "This will hurt a bit, i'm sorry but I can't heal you with this here. She pulled the blade out from him and immediately an aura surrounded her hands and she placed them over his wound. "Vex, keep them off of me." Vex nodded as she killed another assassin. As far as she knew four assassins remained. She kept her attention of Mosby however. She trusted the two that were fighting that they will take care of them.

Apparently Nia was a summoner and healer. It was partially expected, she didn't necessarily have the attitude of a fighter. Instead, she was the kind of person who had friends that were more than willing to do the dirty work for her. These friends weren't other Magi however, but summons. A werewolf rogue was conjured to aid Mavrilus in the fight, and savagely killed two of the six assassins. At this point people were starting to gather around, they heard all the noise, and the people were horrified at the scene laid out before them. Mothers held their children against their legs, covering their eyes and ears.

While one assassin was attempting to find an opening in the agile werewolf rogue's onslaught, three others decided to face what appeared to be the more favorable opponent; a Magi like themselves, not some savage werewolf from the void beyond the realm they inhabit. Little did everyone know that Mavrilus had been holding back. The three assassins decided to mix things up and struck all at one time, leaving Mavrilus no room to evade their attack. Unfortunately for them, he had the perfect spell for this sort of situation. Right before the three could land a hit, all three were frozen in their mid-air position. They were conscious, but couldn't move whatsoever. Their bodies just stopped in thin air. "..." In one fell swoop, Mavrilus spun around and his magic rod cleaved the flesh from all three at once. They all collapsed to the floor, dispelled because their shells no longer had a soul to bear.

Policemen watched in horror. The High Councilor's fighting style was graceful, but in a destructive and bloodthirsty fashion. How could someone so sophisticated and noble act so murderously? They didn't question it. All that mattered was that the Republicans lived and the Rebels died. "Officer Hogan, at your service, Lady Nia Helspith!" He saluted to her. "How can we help?" There was a scene that needed cleansing, and a man was gravely injured. However, the local police force knew to trust their High Councilor's healing abilities.

"I believe our evening has been scathed by this attempt at our very lives." He paused. "Like I said, there's no reasoning with these treacherous Rebels. They only understand warfare and bloodshed." This proved his point earlier. How could you diplomatically approach those willing to stoop so low as to send assassins to do the dirty work for them? Mavrilus was one of those people, and he was dead-set on his own agenda. None would stand in his way. However, for many his ambitions remain unclear, including his Director Mosby. Mavrilus retracted his magic rod, and sheathed it against his belt along with his silenced bolt pistol.

After the battle was over Vex walked over to her. "Sorry I couldn't fight with you Vex, this man needed emergency care. Next time I summon you i'll make it up to you. I promise." Vex nodded then seemingly faded away. After that an officer showed up asking how he could help. "Yes I need to two healers, one to clean his wound and another to take over for me. Also a place thats clean enough for we can lay him down." Nia looked around at the frightened civilians. "Evacuate the any in the off change there are more. Councilor Magis and I were there targets and if there are more I want to avoid an accident." Once Mosby was in good hands she walked over to the water way and placed her hands in the water. Allowing the current to wash away the blood. Mavrilus mentioned that this sort of ruined the rest of that day and to a point he was right. He also used it to cement his point. "I still believe in diplomacy. For every voice that ignores their is one that will listen." She paused. "And if you haven't figured it out yet I'm a natural telepath."
