Personality: Mavrilus could be easily described as a sinister and dignified political genius. Mavrilus always has other cards to play, and he looks at large-scale attrition like a game or a puzzle. He is largely calm and elegant, but it only serves to conceal the burning ambition within himself. Mavrilus will not hesitate to give respect or even praise to where it is due, however, he doesn't tolerate disobedience and/or incompetence. He expects everyone else to be at their best, otherwise he merely looks at them as though they were pawns in his grand scheme. The prime drawback of Mavrilus is his arrogance, occasionally doubting one's own skill and proficiency before giving them a chance.
Secondary Ability: Mavrilus's unique magoplasmic make-up creates a strange magical field constantly generating around him. This field is invisible, and it serves to shroud his presence from any magical, mental or technological means. In other words, it grants him the ability of tracking evasion, however, it doesn't literally make him invisible to the naked eye. Additionally, due to Mavrilus's mastery over the Gravity school of Magic, he can release concussive beams of gravitational force freely.

Since his rise to power, Mavrilus von Magis has founded his own private military company, approved by his fellow High Councilors in this time of crisis. The private military company known as the Luminarium are the largest and most highly trained PMCs to date, and all loyally serve Mavrilus von Magis well within his payroll. It is divided into the Priestly, Warrior and Worker castes. They all believe in serving the “Light” which signifies the future development & innovation of the world as they know it. Priests don purple robes, decorated with symbols of enlightenment and knowledge, they serve primarily as healers but have destructive magic at their disposal and are armed with halberds or spears. Warriors are donned in heavy armor, and wield various types of weapons and use a combination of destructive magics. Lastly, the Workers often help Mavrilus with day-to-day tasks and the really dirty work, with some martial training and magical skills at their disposal. They wear light armor or simple clothing and may be armed with daggers and otherwise easy-to-use weaponry.
Mavrilus mainly uses this armed force to further his own agenda. He also relies on them more than the Sentinels of Magic, since all Sentinels pledge loyalty to the Republic, People and Magocratic High Council instead of just one man. They number in the thousands, and are strategically spread out all across the Republic of Free Mystical Sovereignty, often hidden from the public or government's eyes.

RelationshipsFamily Victor von Magis; father; deceased: Victor is Mavrilus's father. He was assassinated by a fanatical group of Old Way followers, who disagreed with his company's mission of creating advanced technologies to help better society. It didn't take long for his father's Private Military Company to route the dastardly fanatics and end their lives. Mavrilus witnessed his father's murder, which is why much of the public thinks that he has a personal vendetta against the Old Way Rebellion.
Morgan von Magis; mother: Morgan is Mavrilus's mother. Fortunately for her, she was outside of Magis Manor when the assassination occurred. Since she is the last living member of Mavrilus's direct family line, he treats his mother with utmost respect, and often prioritizes her safety in times of crisis. Denizens of Elertich believe she was involved with the assassination of her husband, and that she may in fact be a powerful witch yet unknown by the public.

Drawbacks/Durations/Cooldowns: Mavrilus is able to create a large indefinite quantity of Dust entities; an army if enough magical energy is applied; however, these Dust Soldiers have no professional training, and only know to kill whoever/whatever the caster wants them to, making them less difficult to defeat individually. However, it is quantity not quality that really applies to this spells strength.

Description: User generates a spiraling whirlwind of dust used to envelop a target and tear them a part, it can also be used from range to destroy all within its path.
Drawbacks/Durations/Cooldowns: It paths can be disrupted if enough physical force or magical power is applied, otherwise it is very difficult to counter due to its power and rapidity.

Description: Mavrilus generates a black hole, that serves as a passageway into the realm of Oblivion; or emptiness, that is unique to the target(s). One cannot escape it unless the caster will that he/she be released; however, within the realm of Oblivion the targets can't actually be physically harmed; if anything, they come out mentally damaged or insane. Mavrilus has free passage in and out of Oblivion, and in order to sustain its grasp over others he himself needs to enter it for a temporary amount of time, and if someone were to surprise him, combat him and defeat him during that time it may end their torment in Oblivion and free them from its clutches.
Drawbacks/Durations/Cooldowns: It effects on a target or targets don't go beyond the thread the technique was used in, unless warranted by the Staff or the target(s).

ArsenalWeapon(s): Silenced Bolt Pistol: Due to Mavrilus's mastery over magical combat and secrecy, he is able to fire bolts of magic in highly stable and precise, but equally lethal exertions. When a bolt of his own magic is channeled through the Silenced Bolt Pistol, it cannot be heard without augmentations, intended for assassination.

Magic Rod (Rapier): The style of Mavrilus's hilt is in the form of a sabre or rapier, and magical energies are channeled through the hilt to create a sharp, pointy beam of energy typically colored cyan or purple, allowing for quick, exact stabs/thrusts or slashes.

Gadgets/Accessories: Eye of Amund: The Eye of Amund is an artifact that fits nicely around the user's eye, and is named after an old God of Knowledge and Secrets. It allows Mavrilus to detect traces of one's magoplasmic signature and also allows Mavrilus to identify one's MWF; typically used in the middle of combat, to prepare for however much magical energy the target is using, and identifying its source and/or path.
TellBook: Mavrilus always has a TellBook on hand since his role as High Councilor keeps him very busy as a leader among Mages. It's quite typical for him to receive an innumerable amount of TellBook calls daily.

Character Bio- Spoiler:
Marvilus von Magis was born into one of the five wealthy, noble families that predate the founding of the Republic of Free Mystical Sovereignty. His family however, always remained powerful in the South, even after the First War of Changes. It was due to his family's strong connections with other politicians and would-be lords that they maintained this power and influence. His parents always wanted the best for their children, especially the eldest and heir to their family's wealth; because of this he was given the best education and martial training.
As soon as he became of age, Mavrilus von Magis began making himself a prominent member of his father's corporation, and was already managing many of their projects by the age of eighteen. While his father was still running things, Mavrilus even joined the Eleritch Council of State, and began getting a jump-start on his career-path. Already he was plotting his future, carefully planning every detail. His hidden ambition was starting to become a reality.
From the start of his rise to power, he began gaining the people's favor, and even enticed other world leaders to help him with his ambitions by signing contracts, and having them invest money into the Innovita Corporation, which was becoming evermore popular as Mavrilus's own popularity steadily increased. Soon enough Mavrilus von Magis had become a public idol, only bringing in promising new riches and opportunities to the state of Eleritch. He managed to make trade a more prevalent part of life altogether, and soon enough the whole lot of the Republic was booming with trade, largely retailing Innovita's recent conceptions.
Innovita became one of the nation's prime competitors and distributors of technology, and the innovation of technological and magical usage. The Government began to rely on Innovita's new technologies, that would be distributed to militants and investigators alike. This also earned Mavrilus and the Magis family the highest regard possible in the Republic, and Mavrilus managed to earn some honorary medals and badges of honor for his astonishing, new ideas. His father was so proud of his son for achieving so much, and felt confident that his company would fall into highly capable hands – he was truly blessed.
Unfortunately for him, it would be because of his son's exploits that he would be killed a couple of years later. All of Mavrilus's plans for future technologies would ultimately lead to his own father's demise at the hands of two hateful Old Way fanatics who greatly disliked technology in all forms. To them, Victor von Magis was a symbol of technologies impact on society, and to Mavrilus, the one they were truly after, Victor was a beloved father. Many are skeptical about Victor's assassination, and some think that his own wife was involved because her husband always neglected their other children.
Upon his father's death, Mavrilus and the rest of his family mourned. They had lost one of their family's greatest and successful members, and he was their father and husband; he deserved a lot of respect from the people of Eleritch. Many of the Wet State's civilians attended Victor's funeral. He made the South a thriving place, and gave the people a brilliant and respectable leader.
At the end of the day however, Mavrilus couldn't help but laugh and be merry. Many would call it maniacal, because few have the wealth and power that Mavrilus von Magis would have upon his father's death. He was often honest to his feelings, especially in times of unholy merriment. For him it was largely a time to rejoice. He would have all of his father's landholdings and would be able to fulfill his role as CEO & President of the corporation.
Within a week following his father's death, he changed the company's policies to something more flexible and in his favor, and consolidated his power in Eleritch. He didn't want to be recognized as the people's idol, but their leader and potential representative; he wanted to be one of the five members of the Magocratic High Council. This would allow him to further his plans, and better keep the Old Way Rebellion in check.
So, come the next election Mavrilus would step up and attempt to take the mantle from the former High Councilor. His opponent was an older, more conservative but honest man. When up against the conniving, young liberal he didn't stand a chance. Mavrilus's new ideas and popularity among his people earned him an office in the Capital Spire. He had ascended to the highest authority in the Republic, and it would become his foothold in the new world, where he could directly influence national affairs and policies to serve his own ends; his own agenda.
The people of Eleritch support their new leader & representative, and many are willing to give their lives for such a man. However, other people unfamiliar with impending change and the possibility of a new world order question the young man's motives and history. He is young and controversial, but the people accept him. Many leaders think him to be a threat... And he may very well be one.
